Sharon’s business tagline
In 2013 I wrote the website copy and a tagline for Sharon Chisholm’s interior design business, The Restful Nest. The tagline was, ‘Hatching plans for a beautiful home’. Sharon’s Restful Nest branding incorporates beautiful shades of blue and an owl that says ‘hoo’.
Beautiful person. Awesome gift giver.
Throughout the project Sharon kindly and constantly thanked me for my work, and when the site went live, she sent me a gorgeous owl. Totally unnecessary of course, but such a lovely, thoughtful gesture.
Later on, just because she’s lovely, Sharon sent me a divine vintage pennant with my name on it. Do you know how hard it is to find items stamped with ‘Lucinda’? I’m more likely to find personalised items with branded names like ‘Mountain’, ‘Spleen’ or ‘Rebbbeccka’. This pennant now proudly hangs on the outside of my office door, a reminder to all that I’m not to be disturbed while procrastinating on Facebook.
If she’s not sending beautiful gifts to my postal box, she’s delivering heart-warming messages to my inbox.

An ideas lady
Sharon has many ideas, and it’s starting to affect her hair. The ideas literally dart out of her brain and twist when exposed to the atmosphere. As a result her hair is curly and smart.
Her new business: She’s Got You Sorted
Sharon and her degree-qualified hair decided to start a brand new business, She’s Got You Sorted, which focuses on sorting people’s lives, homes, families and businesses; in order to make their home-based businesses more successful.
When creating the branding, this time around, Sharon wrote the tagline for herself: From mess to less.
Brilliant!
Now, you might think I was upset or miffed because she didn’t hire me to write her tagline. But that wasn’t the case at all. The only reason I smashed up the owl and posted it to her piece by piece is because I enjoy sending mail. The only reason I ran to the front yard, fell to my knees, raised my crumpled fists to the sky and yelled ‘Whyyyyyy?’ is because I hadn’t seen Mr Whippy in a while. And the only reason I called her at 1am, 2am, 3am and 4am is because I was experiencing heavy breathing, and thought she should be kept in the loop.
See, not upset at all.
In all seriousness, I love it when my clients team up with their hair to create excellent copy. It’s a huge compliment and I feel incredibly proud.
Sharon has been an absolute joy to work with over the years. I’ve written stacks of copy for her, from a tagline to brochures to sales letters to website copy.
Not only that, she introduced me to her wonderful graphic designer, Shona Maitland, all those years ago, who I now partner with quite regularly on various projects. What a gift!
Sharon is one of those amazing clients who appreciates everything you do for her. She’s generous, fabulous and friendly, and if you ever work with her (and her Harvard hair), you’ll know exactly what I mean!
Lucinda 🙂
